Lowell Cowell (born October 10, 1945 – Morgantown, West Virginia) is a retired NASCAR Winston Cup Series driver.[1] He would drive for Oldsmobile (five races), Buick (five races), and Chevrolet (two races) during his NASCAR career.[2][3]

Summary

From the age of 35 to the age of 37, Cowell participated in 1767 laps - or 3,676.8 miles (5,917.2 km) of racing action.[1] His average start was 31st place while his average finish was 21st place; ten positions better than he started.[1] He would acquire two DNQs at the 1983 Daytona 500 and the 1984 Daytona 500.[1] Cowell's total earnings for his career were $37,605 ($82,897.35 in today's money).[1][4]

Roger Hamby would be his employer for the majority of his career while Mr. Gordon-Arrington and Mike Potter would be his employers near end of Cowell's career.[3]
